Your dog wants strong bones and great health

Did you know that….

Millions of American pets have gone organic in recent years. The sales of organic pet food were $84 million in 2009.  They have grown that by tenfold since 2002, according to the Organic Trade Association.

I'm all about dogs….

Before health food for dogs became accepted I had formulated a holistic dog treat.  It was hard to make and manufacture but tested well on all pets too.  I attempted to market it but ahead of my time of being accepted in the market place.

I went on to create homemade soaps for dogs made with shea or cocoa butter and no chemicals except initially lye that broke down the in the process.  I loved the process but then again ahead of my times it was hard to market.  However, I did meet Bob Villa in the process and ended up with hundreds of soap bars I am still using today.

Now onto my next phase of dog creations and it is homemade foods for my dog.

Can you imagine feeding your dog real food?

Let's hear it from the doctor….

Dr. Martin Goldstein D.V.M. says about feeding real food to your dog:

"You can boost your pet's health profoundly by making one simple decision. All you have to do is change his diet from commercial-brand fare to something you may never have imagined giving him – real food. The fresh food you buy at the market for yourself is the food you should give your pet, too."

One more doctors….

Dr. Marion Nestle, the Paulette Goddard professor of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University author of “Feed Your Pet Right: The Authoritative Guide to Feeding Your Dog and Cat,” says:  “People are willing to spend anything on their pets. The $18-billion-a-year pet food industry is considered to be recession-proof. Although during this economic downturn shelters have been overwhelmed with pets people could not afford to keep, those who have kept their pets are not stinting on what they spend to feed them.” New York Times, May 2010

Your dog has very progressive Lupus Carol!

When I heard "she" had Lupus I told the holistic vet: "You're kidding Doctor.  I never heard of Lupus in a dog".

Lupus – yikes

Mine HAD and now HEALED! I just discovered few dogs get it but still they do. I was shocked when Molly got it!

➡The BIG question

Is possible to prepare healthy eating for your pup that takes about 5 minutes.

Can your pet be eating healthier than you now?

➡My bragging dog says….

"I am healed of Lupus.  My mom is a health nut!  I am a health nut NOW! I am forced to eat healthier than most people.   I love my mom! My loves me bunches!  I am hoping for a long and healthy life!"

➡Bottom Line…..

If you believe you can't change her diet–you can't!   Change is not easy. Research before implementing any change.   When people hear what you are doing they may think you lost your mind.  Maybe you really gained a new mindset!

Your friends may call you strange making homemade healthy meals for your pet.  It's a choice or decision.  Decide for yourself. Is her sleep better, has more energy and less gas?

Excuses can grab your mind fast.  Take charge of your decisions  I am certain down the road you will say to yourself Thank You for the decision.  Be educated before making changes. I supplement her diet with supplements.  I am excited seeing my dog now enjoying her renewed youth at 11 1/2.  She was almost dead, but now she is VERY alive.  She is so happy and out most of the time again. What an honor to be called her mom!

Carol, that’s a great article. Giving dogs the voice they deserve!

Carol Giambri February 2, 2011 at 9:05 pm

Thanks Donovan for your comment and feeling my heart for the dogs. I LOVE being the voice to the dog world! They are great and most times the owners mess them up so when adopted people think they got a bad one, but didn’t think about bad home that trained them to be that way. All things are do-able. I have had the greatest ever and never returned back to “prison.”

Hi Carol, you really know how to reach out to all dog lovers…

Alisa February 3, 2011 at 3:45 am

unfortunately for me, I am sure your dog is eating healthier than my college age children. My boys have become addicted to the speed of microwaved food. Totally against my beliefs and the way i raised them!

Hi Ruth, thanks for that high compliment. I sure hope I make a difference in dogs lives and dog owners to create a match from heaven while here on earth. I want to see all adopted into GREAT owners homes!!

Alisa, I have to agree my dog eats healthier than most. Tonight she is going to have her organic ground meat with organic veggies and her supplements. Tonight’s meal is all raw, her other meal is cooked chicken, from Costco, without skin and fresh fish both of which is BBQ. She is treated like a princess. Whatever she says WE jump. She rules without knowing and speaks with her eyes. Kids do have their own minds. What can we parents do? My dog eats healthier than my grown kids! Oh well! Thanks for sharing! I appreciate it bunches!
