Old dog learns new tricks

PinExt Old dog learns new tricks

This post is dedicated to my dog who recently recovered from LUPUS hardly ever seen or heard of in dogs.  Her biopsy confirmed what two vets thought was the case.  She has since

RECOVERED and tune in for a book forthcoming and a website  dedicated to her miracle story and miraculous healing. If you spoke to my recently recovered LUPUS dog she would say yes she learned new tricks recently how to eat better and loving every meal.

The odds were against her in recovery but I never quit on her full recovery.  I am so excited she can be 11 years old in a few days and celebrate her better days are still ahead.  She is doing great.  No sorry story here but one of celebration her restored life.

Now let’s see how we can relate her story to yours in business or in personal life.  Either way works if you are making a conscious choice to change.  Is it always easy to change? No, but is it possible? Yes.  In business it is possible to learn new technology or outsource for other to do the more techie stuff for you.  So if you change you could be the “old” dog who did learn “new” tricks in order to leave what is easier for others to do for you as you make money doing what you are good at helping others.

Dietary changes let’s start with.  If you are overweight or challenged with health condition, prescribed by your doctor to change, are you able to do that for yourself?  What does it take?

Perhaps start with the attitude you will change and your big “why” reason.  Then look at “how” you will change.  Could that look like ice cream 2 times weekly as opposed to 7 days? Or, exercising  a few times a week instead of once monthly.

Let your attitude rise up a bit if that is what it takes.

Tip: Find a friend or supporter who will cheer you on.

Tip: Take yourself out to dinner or a movie weekly.

I believe in rewarding yourself and every small step is a step closer to a higher step. You can’t jump a few steps without taking a practice run up one, then two and then more.

Let’s talk aging here.  Since you started reading this blog, you are already a little older — it’s inevitable if you are still breathing.  As you age, let it be a great joyful time as aging can be fun if you feel great and healthy.  Making money is a great thing but one step towards your goal here will get you closer to the big goal in mind.

Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day.  Listen to your own voice and what you can do for yourself which will help others along the way.  So with time slipping by I would love to share this quote:

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”  Steve Jobs
