Cleaning Without Chemicals On A Budget

Fruits, Vegetables, House

By: Carol Giambri

Cleaning the house or buying healthy cleaning products does not have to be expensive, break the bank or frugal budget.  Let's include cleaning fruits, vegetables, refrigerator and laundry.

Today after my shower it took me one minute to clean the tub, tiles, bathroom sink, toilet and stainless steel kitchen sink.  These are just a few ways I clean naturally.  Guess what? Both of us can still use this organic cleaning product.  No kidding!  It doesn't have to be time robber. The kids can become great helpers.  Make it like a race and fun to get the cleaning job done with the whole family as one happy team.  Cleaning can be relaxing too.

Oh, the dog…

If it's good enough for my washing use why not my dog who deserves gentle treatment and smelling wonderful in peppermint.  Here's my pretty Molly.

Get me the doctor…

When I talk about the doctor in most of my conversations they are about the chiropractor or dentist I run too.  I don't have a medical doctor nor needed one in decades either.  I'm glad I found the right ones.

You may not know but I am not addicted to the medical professionals or their products.  I don't judge others choices but my own. Today we are going to talk about healthy cleaning.  This is a little off track from my usual writings, but it has timely money saving tips here.  Let me know if you "love" me sharing this way for future writing ideas.

Sharing My Cleaning Doctor…

Whether I clean my refrigerator, my hard wood floors, linoleum, counter tops, produce, tub, toilets, pet washing, or laundry I have am a friend to the "doctor."  You can too.  These are just a few ways I have found the doctor to be helpful.

Who is my friend…

Now this "doctor" doesn't even know I am his fan, but I have been one for decades.  As long as I can remember he has saved me money.  Today I am expanding my mind to see how many more ways the doctor can help me without drugging my mind or clouding my lungs creating coughing fits.

It's working…

Saving time and money to have more fun being outside too.  Isn't this a great combination to live with daily?  For my tub and toilet cleaning fast in a minute or two is all it takes.  You may say impossible. I would be saying that too, but being my tub is small and my toilet is close to the tub I can move my arm from one area to another fast with a sponge or toilet brush for toilet.  Okay, if it took 5 minutes I would you be happy and still call this a savings. Do you agree?

Kids love cleaning…

Cleaning fruits and vegetables "without" the Dr.
Either fill sink with water and add 30 drops of grape seed extract OR put 1/4 cup distilled vinegar and 3/4 cup distilled water in one spray bottle then put 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide and 3/4 cup distilled water in another spray bottle. Spray produce with the vinegar solution and then with hydrogen peroxide solution. Rinse with water and enjoy eating your fresh produce without the yuck!

Dr. Bronner is the name…

Hemp Peppermint — my favorite

This is who I call "The Cleaning Doctor" but spelling for "doctor" on label is "Dr." This is who I am writing about.  Their products are sold online, in supermarkets and health food stores.    I am proud of their value and quality system.  Let's plan to use more of their products so they can be around for many more years to come.   Join me?

Reflecting and Acting…

Can you see that saving money, using Fair Trade and Organic cleaning products are something to own? As an owner are you using it in more ways than I shared? Have I helped you already see how  you can live on a budget? Can you see how to clean and eat healthier this way?  Do you realize you can be frugal and get the kids involved if still living at home?  They are built in helpers.  Can you try getting some Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps (Castile) next time you shop? I recently found free samples at health food store.  What "smell" will you buy?

Thanks Jennifer. Maybe run over to his site and let them know to compensate me for this plug. I agree with you. I love how you are using natural stuff around your house. Always love learning new tricks/tips. Feel free to drop me a note. thanks so much for sharing. Natural is the way to go! I do this for my dog as well besides hubby. I’m a natural girl–all the way or as much as I find I do. Love gardening too. Container ebook and recipes in the works now.

I've never heard of Dr. Bronners until now— I'll give it a try— I guess I don't understand why cleaning with straight soap with a scent would be any quicker or easier than cleaning with a typical cleaning product—- better for the environment, yes—- but I'm still trying to be convinced that switching my product will make the job faster and easier…  :)   I've been using Melaleuca products because supposedly they're also low on chemical enhancements and healthier.  Sorry though—- no matter WHAT product I use, I'll NEVER enjoy cleaning.  :)
