Natural Colon Cleanse and Weight Loss with Beets

By: Carol Giambri

Do you need a body cleanse, diet one, colon cleanse or weight loss and looking for the magic pill? Beets is the magic vegetable!

Beets to the Rescue…

Beets are high in fiber but also sugar so a little does make a difference.  Some known health benefits include: digestion constipation, blood circulation, dandruff, some cancer like colon, heart diseases, kidney and skin, gall bladder problems too. Great for the liver.

I remember the TV game "Beat The Clock!"  It's time to do that now.  Have the beets around all year round. The next challenge is which color to grow, buy and use.

Let's celebrate…

Many look for ways and reasons to celebrate the birth of a new baby, adopting a dog or a cat, a graduation, a basketball win, your wedding, a day off from work or a holiday?  For whatever reason, a party is a party.

Let's party…

For some the holiday season Christmas made its presence and brought lots of presents.  The stores see happy buyers.  Or, for some like myself, I wanted to sit on Santa's lap or pet his reindeer but others did for Christmas.  Always got another try next to sit or pet.

Blame it on the fork and knife…

The smell and your eyes get the message fast and talk to your spoon and fork saying "now is the time to start."  So you drink, eat and have a merry time. In the meantime who thinks about the trouble maker "fork or spoon" that brought it into your mouth and traveled to our stomach.  We eat when we are happy or sad.

Then the yucky feeling…

What's causing the depression, headache, tummy pains or constipation?  This can help with diet or weight loss.  Perhaps other problems too.  Maybe it's what you are eating or drinking!   Where's the reside hanging out if you don't start to "dump" it somewhere. Keep reading and do the math.

X-Rated "Do the Math"…

The movie I created "Do the Math" explains more of this theory but briefly if you eat 3 meals a day it is normal to have 3 bowel movements within 30 minutes of the finished meal.

If you are not then were is the food residing?  Oops.  Beets is your best friend or at least one of them to help with this situation.  A little goes a far way.  Fresh is best.  Of course organic.

What about Elvis…

I heard Elvis had 60 lbs of waste in his colon when he died. Truth or not I don't know but I do know the waste has to find a way out. Here's a great way…

A "beet-a-full" beet and "beautiful" too…

Orange

Both are great colors to grow or buy.  So just buy it or as known by Nike "Just Do It."  I would add if you get it just say…

Reflecting and Acting…

You don't have to be sick to include some fresh, organic beets in your salad or drink at least a few days a week.  What will you do to start flushing out the waste now?  Be prepared with more toilet paper if you do it right.  Help kids conquer or prevent constipation problems many suffer from.  A little goes a far way.

Start growing your own beets or buying more now.

Jandi, thanks for reading this and yes beets are healthy but easy does it is my warning.  Try the yummy orange ones.  Beautiful in a salad grated.

Hughie, thanks for reading "Beets to the Rescue."  I wonder if kids and adults would have less "zits–pimples" if they realized it helps with the skin when the body is in the detoxing mode–a great thing.  Maybe it's not all the chocolate that is creating skin problems after all!

Carol wonderful article! When we were little my mom used to insist that we eat beets often, she said it helped make new blood. I have not researched it but you sure give us a lot of reasons to eat them. Thanks so much for such helpful information.

Denny, thanks for commenting. I love write and eating this way. It's a lifestyle.  Now I am not lover of beets but still do some. I prefer mainly the orange ones.  But I know they have much value so I fake myself to eat them.  Looking forward to sharing more with in 2012 and container gardening as well.  So much fun to harvest your own when possible.
